TASER AXON Cameras in Demand from Florida Sheriff Office - Analyst Blog

Scottsdale, AZ based TASER International Inc. (TASR) announced that Pasco County Sheriff's Office in Florida has purchased 415 of its AXON Flex body cameras with a five-year subscription to EVIDENCE.com's newly announced Unlimited Plan.

In the release, TASER disclosed its new Unlimited Plan from EVIDENCE.com. Subscribers to this plan will have access to EVIDENCE.com's advanced features like unlimited storage, full hardware equipment warranties and automatic upgrade of the AXON cameras every 2.5 years.

This Unlimited Plan, offered on a three- or five-year contract, will cost $79 per user per month. This order was received in the fourth quarter of 2014 and is expected to be executed in the same quarter.

Public safety technology provider, TASER International is witnessing growing popularity of its advanced body cameras among the U.S. police departments, particularly after the Ferguson unrest. The company has clinched a couple of contracts in the past few weeks.

Recently, Los Angeles Police Department (“LAPD”) placed an order for 860 AXON body-worn video cameras along with a five-year subscription to EVIDENCE.com. Apart from this, in Nov 2014, TASER secured another contract from the Winston-Salem Police Department for 623 AXON body-worn video cameras with a five-year subscription to EVIDENCE.com.

TASER reported impressive third-quarter results with its earnings and revenues outpacing the Zacks Consensus Estimate. Moreover, the company has persistently posted positive earnings surprises in the last four quarters at a notable average beat of 71.39%.

We believe that with its ease of use and the benefits it offers, TASER's AXON Flex body camera will become increasingly popular across the police departments in the U.S.
