Unisys to Offer Single Point IT Support Services to US Army - Analyst Blog

Premier information technology (IT) services provider Unisys Corporation (UIS) recently procured a five-year $93 million worth contract from the U.S. Army to provide round-the-clock help-desk and end-user IT support services to the defense personnel. This Army Enterprise Service Desk (AESD) contract seeks to establish Unisys as the single point of contact for all IT-related queries and support services for the U.S. Army.

Over the years, Unisys has been offering key services to the Department of Defense. With the AESD contract, Unisys aims to bring the various outsourced service desk operations related to LandWarNet – the Department of Defense global networking program, under a single roof. The consolidated services on offer will include a web-based self-help portal, call center-based service agents, and expert help to resolve critical issues and avoid future recurrence. The project will operate from a primary location with a secondary backup location, both connected to the Army's non-classified and secure networks.

Unisys expects to achieve these by utilizing its Edge Service Management solution and VantagePoint interface solution. The Edge Service Management solution enables IT firms to improve employee productivity by better connecting IT services to related business processes. The Unisys VantagePoint user interface delivers real-time anywhere, anytime personalized access, visibility, and enhancements to business services enterprises. Together these interface solutions will enable the Army to gain efficiencies and cost savings by consolidating common functions that were previously outsourced to different organizations.
