Select Solutions Portfolio for Avery - Analyst Blog

In an attempt to draw more consumer attention, Avery Dennison Corporation (AVY) has launched its first Select Solutions portfolio of pressure sensitive materials. Holographic label materials constitute the exclusive features of this portfolio which is ideal for commemorative products and seasonal packaging.

Holographic label materials utilize a multi-layered coating to refract light and create a variety of optical effects comprising iridescent and prismatic visuals. These advanced labeling materials when affixed to glass, plastic and paper containers will attract consumers influencing their decision at the time of purchase.

The portfolio also comprises squeezable materials which are used for containers of food, beverage, wine, spirits, home and personal care market segments. The portfolio of film and paper materials includes semi-conformable films which offer consistent printing, registration and die cutting. Introduction of this new portfolio is in line with the company's strategy to deliver healthy organic growth to its Pressure Sensitive Materials segment.

This holographic label is the first among Avery's upcoming series of Select Solutions portfolios. Avery, which belongs to the office supply, labeling and packaging industry along with CompX International Inc. (CIX), A.T. Cross Company (ATX) and United Stationers Inc. (USTR), will introduce a full series of Select Solutions portfolios, including Reclosure, Security and Food Safety and Promotion in the upcoming months.

Some of the important aspects of Select Solutions portfolio are low minimum order quantities and day-of price quotations. It will also ensure lesser delivery time of four-day shipping and address specific customers' needs of unique application labeling.

Avery continues to deliver healthy organic growth in both the core segments, Pressure Sensitive Materials and Retail Branding and Information Solutions. With the divestiture of the underperforming Office and Consumer Products unit, the company will be able to focus on these core segments and improve its growth profile.

Pasadena, Calif.-based Avery manufactures pressure-sensitive materials, tickets, tags, labels and other converted products. Avery has over 200 manufacturing and distribution facilities across more than 60 countries.

Avery currently retains a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
