Microsoft, Qualcomm And LionsGate To Make VR Showing At CES

It's an open secret that Virtual Reality would be one of the central themes of 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) set to take place in Las Vegas on January 5 –8.

Many movie studios and streaming services have been ramping up and expanding to areas like comic books and visual books.

Meanwhile, tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting for QUALCOMM, Inc. QCOM’s demonstration of its Snapdragon 835 chipset to enable a Power Rangers VR experience in collaboration with movie maker Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (USA) LGF on a smartphone.

“While gaming has been dominating content in terms of VR, we are excited to see what is in store for VR as it pertains to content outside of gaming,” Brean Capital analyst Mike Burton wrote in a note.

In addition, the analyst expects many PC makers using Microsoft Corporation MSFT’s Windows 10 VR headsets to enable the usage and viewing of VR content on their new Desktop & Notebooks that they have traditionally demonstrated at CES.

Further, Burton is looking for more announcements of 3D sensing and other AR/VR applications to endeavor to follow the success of Pokemon Go this year.
