Clean Technica stated that it is "absurd" that Tesla's Model S P100D is able to compete with sports cars that cost $1 million or more in a 0–60 race.
The massive battery will also be featured in Tesla's Model X SUV.
"It's in the battery, baby," Clean Technica proclaimed.
But wait: Tesla's new 100 kWh battery shouldn't come as a surprise to keen investors following some of Wall Street's top analysts and experts.
Benzinga reported on August 15 a research note written by a leading authoritative figure on Tesla, Global Equities Research's Trip Chowdhry.
Chowdhry has been following Tesla since 2009 and keeps up-to-date on the latest developments in battery technology by attending conferences and speaking with industry insiders.
Chowdhry stated in his August 15 research note that Tesla is indeed working on a 100kWh battery pack for its Model S and Model X vehicles.
"Our Research indicates that 100 kWh battery pack will easily push the Model S range to >300 miles, and that will be a significant milestone for the Industry," Chowdhry wrote.
