  • salesforce.com, inc. CRM's annual tech event called ‘Dreamforce' will take place September 15 to 18.
  • Speakers include CEOs from Salesforce, Microsoft, YouTube, Western Union, Cisco, Uber and more.
  • Analysts are mostly bullish heading into this year's event which may contain multiple announcements.
Salesforce has been hosting an annual technology event, named Dreamforce, since 2003 which attracted only 1,300 attendees. Salesforce saw its event surge in popularity over the years and has become an anticipated event for tech enthusiasts, users of the company's products and services, and the general investment community. The company typically uses the event to introduce new products, including Salesforce LIVE which was introduced during the 2010 Dreamforce event. Dreamforce 2015 is expected to be one of the largest tech events in the world with more than 15,000 attendees. Speakers at the event include Salesforce's CEO Marc Benioff, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, YouTube's CEO Susan Wojcicki, Cisco's CEO Chuck Robbins, Uber Technologies' CEO Travis Kalanick, among others. Stephens: ‘The One Event To Rule Them All' Alex Zukin of Stephens commented in a note that he is expecting the Dreamforce event to be "special" and should "dwarf prior events" in terms of announcements. The analyst added that he had already predicted Salesforce is set to introduce a "new exciting IOT cloud," but the "most impactful" announcement for the current year will be the updated Lightning UI. Zukin noted he has a scheduled meeting with Salesforce management on Monday and will update his findings later this week. Brean Capital: Reiterate Buy Rating Ahead Of Event Sarah Hindlian of Brean Capital reiterated a Buy rating and $86 price target heading into Dreamforce and "continue to recommend" that investor's own "this core software asset." Looking forward to the event, Hindlian is expecting Salesforce's management to touch on four key topics including: 1) a new cloud that targets and manages customer data to smart and connected machines, 2) an update from Salesforce's Chief Financial Officer Mark Hawkins on the company's operating margin expansion efforts and long-term guidance, 3) an update on new marquis reference customer for Wave Analytics cloud and the new packaged Wave apps, and 4) new updates on vertical clouds.
