Morningstar Analyst Would Be 'Surprised' At Ackman Short In Whole Foods

Speaking to Benzinga, Morningstar Analyst Ken Perkins said that he would be surprised is Pershing Square Capital Management CEO Bill Ackman took a short positition with Whole Foods Market, Inc. WFM.

Perkins explained that Whole Foods is a pretty strong company with good growth prospects and decent cash flow, adding that the company aspires to somewhat altruistic goals and mission.

“Based on what it seems he normally goes for in terms of finding short opportunities, this one seems like it would be less likely or surprising to me,” Perkins said.

But he did mentioned that he wouldn’t say this could never happen. Shares of Whole Foods are trading 0.23 percent higher today.
