Cantor's Top Ten Questions For Twitter

Cantor Fitzgerald released a set of ten questions to ask management Wednesday at the Twitter Inc. TWTR analyst day.

Here is what the analysts, led by Youssef Squali, want to ask:

“1) Why is the 140-character model the best one for the platform? Any plans to alter it in any way to grow users and usage?

2) What concrete steps is management taking to reinvigorate MAU growth and how long before we start seeing an acceleration in this metric?

3) How realistic is it for Twitter to aim to have the largest total audience in the world considering its current size? How is this audience actually defined (logged-in users vs. not?)

4) Is timeline views per MAU still the best metric for user engagement? Why is time spent per user not a key metric by which to track the business?

5) How do you bridge the gap between time spent on the Twitter platform (at ~3min/day) with that of your closest peer (at ~40min/day)?

6) What gets engagement (timeline views per MAU) to turn flat and start to grow again (vs. -7 percent and -8 percent in the last two quarters)?

7) What is the value of logged-in user vs. a non-logged in one?

8) Would improving access to content for non-logged in users negatively impact logged-in user growth?

9) What additional ad formats would help get Twitter to the $10 in ad revenue/MAU goal management spoke about in the past? How long would it take?

10) What accounts for the high churn within management ranks since IPO? Are there any key positions that still need to be filled?”

The firm rated Twitter a Buy with a $59 price target.  The stock recently traded at $39.28, down 0.78 percent.
