After the close on Thursday Big Lots BIG will report second quarter earnings. Analysts are expecting EPS to be $0.30 on revenues of $1.20 billion. EPS in the first quarter was $0.50 on revenue $1.26 billion. On May 30, 2014 Big Lots issued guidance for second quarter EPS between $0.24 and $0.30 with an estimate of $0.28.
Revenues are expected to grow on strength in consumer spending. Analysts at Keybanc KEY, JP Morgan JPM, Deutsche Bank DB, and Benchmark all cited strength in company turnaround initiatives in notes issued on Thursday.
Nearing the end of the trading day Thursday, Big Lots traded down roughly 1.3 percent to $47.44.
