Oracle Acquires LiveLOOK for Co-browse Technology - Analyst Blog

Oracle Corp. ORCL recently acquired co-browsing software maker, LiveLOOK. The company is a leading provider of innovative visual sharing technologies and has more than 500 customers worldwide.

LiveLOOK's product will enable support and sales staff to browse alongside customers so that they can troubleshoot issues faced by customers and thus help them to make the right purchases.
 
Moreover, LiveLOOK will help in resolving support calls faster, which in turn will help to lower costs. Also, it will boost sales of the company.

The technology will enable Oracle's support personnel to communicate with customers directly, thereby helping them to develop better customer relationships, understand their actual requirements and sell products accordingly.

We believe that this acquisition will be a positive for Oracle. It will enable the company to combat competition from the likes of Salesforce.com CRM, SAP AG SAP, and Microsoft MSFT as well as to solidify its position in the customer experience software space.

The acquisition of LiveLOOK comes on the heels of the launch of a support feature by Salesforce known as SOS, which bears a strong resemblance to the product offered by LiveLOOK.

Of late, Oracle has been on an acquisition spree in order to diversify its offerings. The company has spent about $50 billion to acquire 100 companies during the last 10 years. Out of these, 20 odd had been geared toward specific industries.

We believe that Oracle, being a late entrant to the cloud computing field, will continue to pursue strategic acquisitions to improve its market share and top-line growth.

Moreover, the speedy adoption of engineered systems and cloud suites will drive incremental top-line growth, going ahead. Moreover, Oracle's strategy of providing end-to-end solutions will further attract new customers in the long run.
