10 Highlights From Two Tech Giants At The Code Conference

The following list is made up of highlights, according to SunTrust's Bob Peck, relating to comments made by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

Microsoft

• The "next big thing" is the "post, post PC," which means ubiquitous service across devices.
• New product unveiled: real time video chat translation.
• Does not feel need to BUY something big, but needs to BUILD something big.
• Will not sell Bing - important technology leveraged for other areas.
• Will not spin Xbox - sometimes owning the hardware is necessary.

Google

• Google X has eight live projects: only discussed Glass, Loon, Glucose Lens and Self Driving Car.
• Unveiled new car that has no driver or dashboard, increased field of vision (building 100-200 units).
• No interest in buying Uber, will partner with many.
• Glass MAY be a commercial product by year end.
• No plans to retire anytime soon.
