Stifel Nicolaus lowers its rating on Anworth Mortgage Asset Corporation (NYSE: ANH) and removes its price target on shares.

Stifel Nicolaus says, "Anworth is running with the lowest net interest spread in the agency REIT group. Combined with lower-than-average leverage, the portfolio produces the lowest ROE of the group. This translates to the lowest dividend yield (even with the stock trading well below book value) and we don't envision this changing in the near future."

ANH closed at $7.01 on Monday.
