shares for the last few weeks, Piper Jaffray has concluded that RealD has been affected by half-baked stories, causing Piper to write: "Another day, another unreasonable rumor regarding digital 3D. Over the past few weeks, we believe unfounded rumors have impacted the RLD shares, ranging from the imminent rollout of 'glasses-free' 3D TVs to concerns that exhibitors Regal and AMC might ditch RealD technology. Now comes the threat over laser-based projection technology. Here, once again, we believe the bears are attempting to hype a technology that is unlikely to impact RealD results anytime soon, if ever." It would appear that RealD has been an underdog for these rumors, but only time will tell. Piper Jaffray maintains its Overweight rating and $24 price target. RealD Inc. closed yesterday at $16.19.
