DICK'S Sporting Plans Gala Opening for 12th Wisconsin Store

In line with its expansion strategy, DICK'S Sporting Goods Inc. DKS announced plans to inaugurate its twelfth store in Wisconsin. The new store is slated to open doors on Aug 5, with grand celebrations continuing over the weekend.

The store, which will be located at The Corridor in Brookfield, WI, will take the company's store count in the U.S. to 649.

The sporting goods retailer will distribute free Reebok Play Dry T-Shirts to the first 100 people in queue on the opening day. The early birds (only adults) will also get an opportunity to open the DICK'S Sporting Goods Gift Locker on all three days. Additionally, on Saturday and Sunday, the company plans to give away a Mystery Gift Card to the first 100 adults in line.

Moreover, to attract customers, current pro basketball forward, Sam Dekker has been invited to make an appearance at the Wisconsin outlet on Saturday. Also, those coming to the store first will be handed out a wristband on Saturday, while stocks last.

The Wisconsin store will offer over 40 suitable in-store services provided by DICK'S certified PROS in sports and outdoor specialties like Bike, Golf and Fishing. The outlet will also accommodate athletic clothing and footwear, along with the latest equipment for team sports, fitness, camping, hunting and fishing. Additionally, the new outlet will house Nike and Under Armour shops, to offer customers an improved experience.

We note that DICK'S Sporting has been aggressively expanding its store base and eCommerce capabilities to achieve its long-term revenue target of over $10 billion by the end of fiscal 2017. Going forward, it intends to remain committed to further store expansion, store productivity enhancement and investments in omni-channel business for continued improvement.
