Houston-based energy company Texas LNG selected Honeywell International Inc.'s HON natural gas technology and process automation, enabling Honeywell to contribute further to meeting the burgeoning global demand for LNG (liquefied natural gas). The technology will provide state-of-the-art gas pre-treatment, automation and controls for its natural gas liquefaction plant.

Located on the north shore of the Port of Brownsville's deep-water ship channel, the two-phase project is set to produce 4 million tons of LNG starting in 2020.

Honeywell combines integrated solutions of advanced gas processing technology with state-of-the-art automation and control systems. This streamlined approach enables ideal project execution by optimizing project time, cost and risk, thus helping achieve operational goals.

Texas LNG will use Honeywell's proven technology to help eliminate contaminants from natural gas in preparation for liquefaction and export to customers around the world. Also, Honeywell's extensive and vastly integrated capabilities lend considerable credibility and value to Texas LNG's venture in a highly competitive environment.

Texas LNG will facilitate easy LNG transport by employing Honeywell's UOP Amine Guard FS process, in order to lessen acid gas to extremely low levels and its proprietary adsorbents to get rid of water, mercury and sulfur from the natural gas. The process is customizable and can be adjusted according to application and feed gas quality. Honeywell's Amine Guard FS technology is used to process over 40% of treated LNG globally.

Honeywell will aid Texas LNG in minimizing risks and potential schedule delays by employing its integrated solutions including LEAP, Honeywell's lean project execution services, Experion PKS with Distributed Systems Architecture (DSA), Experion Security Integrator and Fault Tolerant Ethernet FTE, to name a few.

The integrated main automation contractor for the project will be Honeywell Process Solutions ("HPS"). HPS will be in charge of designing, delivering and installing the automation, instrumentation, controls, operations management, safety and security and advanced planning and scheduling applications.

Honeywell will also be supporting Texas LNG in the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's front-end engineering and design process.

Honeywell's integrated approach will enable the plant to start up quickly and achieve optimum production faster, as well as assist in executing operations and optimizing the supply chain.

Honeywell presently has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Other stocks that look promising and are worth a look now include Compass Diversified Holdings CODI, Federal Signal Corp. FSS and Macquarie Infrastructure Corporation MIC, each sporting a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
