Air Products to Present in South Korea - Analyst Blog

Air Products & Chemicals Inc. APD will showcase its proprietary and world's leading liquefied natural gas LNG technology by making two presentations for natural gas liquefaction at the ongoing 2014 Gastech Conference and Exhibition in Goyang City, South Korea.

The first presentation will be made on “Navigating the waves of Floating LNG: A guide to liquefaction process cycle selection” by Air Products' principal process engineer Jon Berg during the Conference's Center of Technical Excellence (CoTE) session on liquefaction on Mar 25.

The second presentation will be made on "State-Of-The-Art Nitrogen Removal for Natural Gas Liquefaction”, a paper to be presented by Air Products' senior principal process engineer, as part of the Technical Stream on Emerging & Ground-Breaking Gas Technologies session to be held on Mar 26.

The importance of Air Products' LNG technology lies in its ability to meet the world's increasing energy needs and desire for clean energy by processing and cryogenically liquefying valuable natural gas for both consumer and industrial use.

Air Products' LNG technology operates in 15 countries worldwide, in the remotest of locations where it takes natural gas, a stranded valuable resource, unlocks it by liquefying it and makes it possible to economically ship it across the globe. Eventually, LNG is re-gasified for energy use.

Air Products offers process technology and essential equipment for the natural gas liquefaction process for large export plants, small and mid-sized LNG plants, floating LNG plants and LNG peak shavers. The company also engineers, designs and manufactures the heat exchanger equipment for LNG projects.

Air Products provides both nitrogen and natural gas dehydration membrane systems for offshore platforms at upstream. On the downstream, the company provides dry inert gas generators for LNG carriers, shipboard membrane nitrogen systems, and land-based membrane and cryogenic nitrogen systems for LNG import terminals and base-load LNG plants.

For over seven decades, Air Products has been providing atmospheric, process and specialty gases, performance materials, equipment and technology to its customers. The company's products have enabled customers to become more productive, energy efficient and sustainable by supplying innovative solutions to the energy, environment and emerging markets.

Air Products currently retains a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).

Other companies in the chemical industry worth considering include Methanex Corp. MEOH, Cytec Industries Inc. CYT and The Dow Chemical Co. DOW, all three carrying a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
