Resolute Forest Promotes Eco Awareness - Analyst Blog

Paper products manufacturer Resolute Forest Products Inc. RFP recently launched a new website titled www.BorealForestFacts.com as part of its campaign to promote sustainable forest management initiatives in one of the world's most vibrant ecosystems. The website launch also coincided with the United Nations' 2014 Theme of "Celebrating Forests for Sustainable Development."

The website will offer detailed first-hand knowledge of the boreal forest in Canada, which comprises about one-third of the circumpolar boreal forest that rings the northern hemisphere. It will also provide an insight into the various sustainable initiatives that need to be taken up earnestly to maintain proper balance in the ecosystem and sustain the forest products industry on which several livelihoods depend.

Incidentally, a Yale University study has accredited Canada's forestry laws and regulations to be among the most stringent in the world. Resolute Forest's website will further help in promoting the Canadian vigil in maintaining the right conservation efforts.

Resolute Forest is one of the partners in the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement. It works on conservation issues and strives to maintain an equal balance on the three pillars of sustainability linked to human activities namely, environmental, social and economic. As a member of the World Wildlife Fund's Climate Savers program, Resolute Forest also aims to voluntarily reduce greenhouse gas emissions through various afforestation efforts.
