Cannabis Giant Green Thumb To Report Q3 Results, Here's What Investors Should Watch For
Cannabis consumer packaged goods company Green Thumb Industries Inc. (CSE: GTII) (OTCQX: GTBIF) and owner of RISE Dispensaries, announced on Thursday it will release third quarter 2024 financial results after the market closes on Nov.7, 2024. A conference call and audio webcast will be held on the same day at 5:00 pm Eastern Time to discuss the results and answer any questions. The company said in its second-quarter earnings report made public in early August – which revealed an 11% year-over-year increase in revenue to $280 million - that the company will continue strengthening its position in the U.S. cannabis market, focusing on operational efficiency, market expansion, and long-term value creation for shareholders.Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Green Thumb recently announced a $50 million share repurchase program, that commenced on Sept 23. The news came on the heels of the company's announcement that it has closed on a $150 million five-year syndicated credit facility led by Valley National Bank, the principal subsidiary of Valley National Bancorp.

Cannabis producer Organigram Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: OGI) (TSX: OGI) announced on Tuesday results for the third quarter ended June 30, 2024, revealing its net revenue increased 25% year-over-year to CA$41.1 million ($29.9 million). Beena Goldenberg, the company's CEO, praised the revenue milestone. "We are pleased to report a strong third quarter, highlighted by a 25% year-over-year increase in net revenue, and a significant improvement in adjusted EBITDA", Goldenberg said. In May, Organigram announced its second international medical cannabis customer in the UK, Avida Medical, a full-service medical cannabis and special medicines manufacturing business. In June, the company announced a strategic investment aimed at expanding its presence within Germany, one of the burgeoning European cannabis markets.

Agrify Corporation, a Michigan-based agricultural technology company, has reported a 56% year-over-year decrease in revenue for the third quarter of 2023. The company's revenue for the quarter stood at $3.1 million, down from $7 million in the same period last year. Agrify also reported a net loss of $2.1 million for Q3 2023, compared to a net loss of $57.4 million in the same quarter of 2022. Despite the decrease in revenue, Agrify's chairman and CEO, Raymond Chang, said that the historically low net loss is an encouraging sign that the company is making progress. The company managed to reduce its total operating expenses to $5.6 million in Q3 2023, down from $27.4 million in the same period last year. Agrify also reported gross profit of $1 million for the quarter, compared to a loss of $4.1 million in Q3 2022. As of September 30, 2023, the company had $43 million in total assets and $64.3 million in total liabilities.

Canopy also announced its plans for the US cannabis market through its non-controlling interest in Canopy USA. The company expects to file its definitive proxy statement with the SEC on or about 13 February, followed by a special meeting with shareholders on 12 April. During the meeting, shareholders will consider the creation of a new class of non-voting, non-participating exchangeable shares. Once exchangeable shares are created and Canopy USA acquires US THC businesses, investors are expected to have an opportunity to participate in the US cannabis market.
