The fund mainly invests in long-term, investment-grade municipal obligations exempt from U.S federal income taxes (except that the interest may be subject to the U.S. federal alternative minimum tax) and New Jersey personal income taxes, with remaining maturities of one year or more at the time of investment. The rest of its managed assets can be invested in securities that are rated below investment grade (or similar instruments), or invested directly in securities or synthetically through the use of derivatives.
