Despite past setbacks, including an Olympics ban due to cannabis, Sha'Carri Richardson is now officially a world champion.

On Monday, the 23-year-old sprinter known for electrifying performances, made history as she won the 100m in 10.65 seconds, a championship record time.

Richardson, who was banned from competing at the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for cannabis in 2021, only got faster these past two years.

As she herself has said often on her social media sites: she’s not only back, she’s better.

But on Monday in Budapest after winning her first title at a world track and field championships, she said “Honestly I don’t even know what to say,” an hour after she crossed the finish line and stared up at the results in seeming disbelief.

“It’s surreal. I think in the morning I’ll probably feel it.”

Have a look for yourself. It is beyond thrilling.
