Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Watch users can look forward to major interface changes with the upcoming WatchOS 10, according to Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman

What Happened: In his weekly newsletter, Gurman anticipates that WatchOS 10 — the forthcoming Apple Watch operating system — will be markedly different this year compared to its previous versions, which have stayed relatively static, reported AppleInsider.

According to Gurman, the WatchOS 10 will be a “fairly extensive upgrade — with notable changes to the user interface — unlike iOS 17.”

It is “important” for WatchOS to have a significant update for version 10 since the upcoming Apple Watch hardware updates are expected to be minor, said Gurman.

Why It’s Important: Apple usually introduces its big operating system update during the Annual Worldwide Developer Conference or WWDC, which will commence on June 5 this year.

According to Gurman, Apple also plans to debut its first mixed-reality (MR) headset, marking its foray into a new major category.

Although, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said there is uncertainty around the headset’s introduction during the conference, as opposed to what the market widely expects.
