Kinder Morgan Inc (NYSE: KMI) shares are volatile on Wednesday after the company reported earnings and revenue below expectations. In a note to Benzinga, Pointe Capital's Jim Carroll said excluding one-time items, were as expected. An impairment charge that nearly "everyone" in the energy space is taking amid a low oil environment resulted in the loss, but Carroll said it's a one-time non-cash charge.When listening to the conference call, Carroll said management's tone seemed "ok," despite the recent decline in oil prices.Kinder Morgan shares are up 2.2 percent in the day's after-market session after falling 4.3 percent on the day.
