EUR/USD Lower on Data ahead of ECB

EUR/USD is trading at 11047, down 0.0032. German January manufacturing orders were lower and came in below estimates. The decline was reinforced by declining overseas orders that were down 4.8% on the month. A decline in EMU orders of 9% on the month was especially worrisome. Italy's GDP was flat on the quarter and down 0.5 % on the year. France's unemployment rate on a quarterly basis rose to 10.0% from 9.9%. If overseas territories are included the rate is 10.4% from 10.3% The ECB Governing Council will hold it's monetary policy meeting in Cyprus. ECB Head Draghi will hold a press conference afterwards. Market chatter about U.S. payroll data due out Friday continues.
