US Stock Futures Rise Ahead Of Economic Data

Pre-open moversUS stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on consumer spending for December will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the Markit PMI manufacturing index for January will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET. The ISM manufacturing composite index for January and construction spending data for December will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 77 points to 17,174.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 8.60 points to 1,997.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 13 points to 4,154.25.A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were mixed today, with the Spanish Ibex Index dropping 1.81%, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.24% and German DAX 30 index rising 0.61%. French CAC 40 Index gained 0.23% and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.40%. Eurozone manufacturing PMI climbed to a reading of 51.0 in January, versus 50.6 in December. U.K. manufacturing PMI gained to 53.0 in January from 52.7 in December.In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.66%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 0.09%, China's Shanghai Composite Index slipped 2.56% and India's BSE Sensex tumbled 0.21%. The HSBC China manufacturing PMI surged to a final reading of 49.7 in January, versus a reading of 49.6 in December.Broker RecommendationAnalysts at Goldman Sachs upgraded Deckers Outdoor Corp. (NYSE: DECK) from Neutral to Buy. The price target for Deckers Outdoor has been lowered from $95 to $90. Deckers Outdoor's shares gained 2.80% to $67.90 in pre-market trading.Breaking news
