StoreDot, an Israel-based electric vehicle batteries maker, and Polestar Automotive Holding UK Plc (NASDAQ:PSNY) have entered into a collaboration to explore and demonstrate how XFC battery cell technology can be applied to an existing platform.

StoreDot's '100-in-5' XFC cell charging was demonstrated alongside a prototype of a Polestar battery module at Polestar Day in Los Angeles, California.

The partnership comes after Polestar's investment in StoreDot and as part of an ongoing strategic partnership.

The parties are already working to demonstrate StoreDot's production-ready XFC technology at full scale in a Polestar 5 prototype vehicle in 2024.

StoreDot's '100in5' cells deliver 100 miles of range in just five minutes of charging with no battery degradation.

"StoreDot's pioneering extreme fast charging batteries, combined with our upcoming top-of-the-line electric powertrain, can revolutionize the ownership experience for EV owners with the ability to recharge in minutes," said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath.

Price Action: PSNY shares are trading higher by 4.02% at $2.07 in premarket on the last check Friday.
