Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) is working on enhancing merchandise accessibility at additional Supercharger stations worldwide, turning charging into shopping time for customers.
What Happened: “We are working to improve access to merch and amenities at more Superchargers worldwide. And to keep merch in stock…,” Drew Baglino, Senior Vice President of Powertrain and Energy Engineering at Tesla, said on X, formerly Twitter.
Baglino was responding to a Tesla enthusiast who noted that the supercharger in Kettleman city is full of vehicles with customers looking to buy the Tesla merchandise on display. However, “many items & sizes out of stock already,” the user wrote.
Why It Matters: With the addition of merchandise and amenities at supercharger locations worldwide, EV drivers will have a better user experience where they can also shop while their vehicle charges. The charging levels can be monitored on the Tesla app in the meantime. The Tesla mobile app notifies you when charging is almost complete, and again when charging is complete.
Tesla currently provides a wide range of merchandise via its online store called the Tesla shop including apparel, chargers, vehicle accessories or even lifestyle products like mugs or die-cast models of its vehicles.
