Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) is reportedly in the lead to receive an order from Indian carrier IndiGo for roughly 25 wide-body aircraft.

IndiGo is in talks to buy Boeing's 787 family of twin-aisle aircraft, which has been pitted against Airbus SE (OTC:EADSY) A330neo jets. However, a decision has yet to be finalized, reported Reuters, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Recently, IndiGo placed an order for 500 Airbus narrow-body jets.

Earlier, a record deal was entered by rival Air India for 470 Airbus and Boeing planes.

IndiGo began international operations with a Boeing 777, its first twin-aisle aircraft, earlier this year.

Price Action: BA shares are trading higher by 0.33% at $236.50 premarket on Monday.
