Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc (NYSE:SPCE) has announced the crew of its first commercial spaceflight, ‘Galactic 01,’ with a target flight date of June 29, 2023.

The three-person crew from the Italian Air Force and National Research Council of Italy will board VSS Unity for a 90-minute flight to conduct a series of suborbital science experiments.

Virgin Galactic will share a global livestream of the spaceflight on VirginGalactic.com starting at 9:00 AM MT / 11:00 AM ET on the day of the flight.

Last week the Richard Branson-owned company filed with the SEC a prospectus for an at-the-market common stock offering, which will allow it to sell $400 million worth of shares over time.

It will use the proceeds for the development of its spaceship fleet and infrastructure to scale its commercial operations.

The second commercial spaceflight ‘Galactic 02’ will follow in early August, with monthly spaceflights expected thereafter.

Virgin Galactic is an aerospace and space travel company providing human spaceflight for private individuals and researchers with its advanced air and space vehicles.

Price Action: SPCE shares are trading higher by 8.06% at $4.69 in premarket on the last check Monday.
