  • 3M Co (NYSE:MMM) has fired its Group President and Chief Business & Country Officer, Michael Vale, for inappropriate personal conduct and violation of company policy.
  • 3M said Vale was terminated for cause, effective May 12, 2023. The company has initiated a search for Vale's successor.
  • The leaders of 3 M's Safety and Industrial Business, Consumer Business, and Transportation and Electronics Business will report to 3M chairman and CEO Mike Roman, effective immediately.
  • Vale was elevated to a newly created role on the company's corporate operations committee in April, reporting directly to the CEO, reported the WSJ.
  • The manufacturer didn't detail the violation but said it was unrelated to 3M's operations and financial performance.
  • Price Action: MMM shares are trading lower by 0.14% at $100.35 in premarket on the last check Tuesday.
