- Mattel Inc (NASDAQ:MAT) and Gap Inc (NYSE:GPS) are forming a new apparel collaboration.
- The first of many upcoming Gap x Mattel product drops will be the Gap x Barbie collection.
- The collection will offer tees, skirts, logo hoodies, denim, button-downs and accessories as well as pet apparel.
- The products will be designed on Gap's product icons featuring Barbie branding and Gap's signature arch typeface.
- The Gap x Barbie collection will be available from May 23 on gap.com and in select gap stores worldwide, with select styles offered through Mattel Creations platform.
- Additional Gap x Mattel collaborations will also be unveiled later in 2023, including apparel based on Hot Wheels.
- "We look forward to working together to offer our fans fun, quality clothing for the entire family, plus a new way to embrace their favorite Mattel brands, franchises, characters and stories," said Josh Silverman, Chief Franchise Officer and Global Head of Consumer Products at Mattel.
- Price Action: MAT shares are trading higher by 0.38% at $17.28 on the last check Wednesday.
