A New Year's Gift: More Commission-Free ETFs From Schwab

Investors love a good deal, and exchange-traded funds, broadly speaking, deliver the goods when it comes to good deals. Low fees have been one of the biggest reasons advisors and investors continuously flock toward ETFs, but ETF users have other avenues for cutting costs – including commission-free trading platforms.

Charles Schwab Corp SCHW's Schwab ETF OneSource is the largest commission-free ETF platform, and in terms of number of offerings, it just keeps on growing.

On Monday, California-based Schwab said it is adding two new providers – Deutsche Bank AG (USA) DB's Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (Deutsche AWM) and John Hancock Investments – and 14 new ETFs.

“Deutsche Asset Management and John Hancock Investments are the 15th and 16th providers to join Schwab ETF OneSource, adding to a roster of existing industry leaders that include: ALPS, Direxion, ETF Securities, Global X Funds, Guggenheim Investments, IndexIQ, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, PIMCO, PowerShares, ProShares, State Street SPDR® ETFs, United States Commodity Funds LLC, WisdomTree and Charles Schwab Investment Management,” said Schwab in the statement.
