Jokes aside, most people merely turned to Twitter to reiterate the fact that Amazon had gone down. It was not a life-changing event but it was one that got the attention of several individuals. Depending on how many people tried to visit Amazon.com during the outage, hundreds of thousands of sales may have been lost (or at the very least delayed) in the process.
