Five "What The!?" Super Bowl XLV Ads (CRM, VIA, BBY, BUD)

Old ladies on young bodies. Old rockstars with young pop stars. Old outlaws singing songs.

These are just a few of the crazy commercials that perplexed viewers as they watched Super Bowl XLV. Now that you've seen our favorite ads from the Big Game, it's time for the Benzinga crew to select the ads that left us scratching our heads.

1. Halftime Ad 2

This Chatter.com CRM ad was intended to entertain during halftime. But when viewers saw it, we knew it was time for a bathroom break.

2. Rango

If you've seen the full-length trailer(s) for Paramount Picture's VIA Rango, then you know that it is a clever, unique and comedic take on the western genre. But its story cannot be told in 30 seconds. Hence the lackluster – and completely uninviting – Super Bowl ad that hopefully won't do more harm than good for this promising animated flick.

3. Future Proof

Was this ad a celebrity circus or an effective way to promote the new buy back campaign from Best Buy BBY? You decide.

4. New GoDaddy Girl

The video below is only the teaser. But if you haven't seen the whole thing, trust us: your eyes are better off.

5. Wild West

While not a terrible Budweiser BUD commercial by any means, this wild west-themed ad relied on typical tricks (read: an overly dramatic buildup) to mislead the audience before revealing the comedic (?) finale.
