February lean hogs are trading at 65.62, up 0.20 cents/lb. April lean hogs are trading at 68.87, down 0.10 cents/lb. June lean hogs are trading at 78.10, down 0.05 cents/lb Thursday's USDA estimated hog slaughter was 442,000 head, the total for the week is now 1.625 million head. U.S. pork production for the week ending January 7th was 445.3 million pounds, up from 438 the previous week and up 2 percent from a year ago.
