February live cattle is trading at 109.87, down 1.50 cents/lb. April live cattle is trading at 110.05, down 1.17 cents/lb.Live cattle futures are trading lower just after the open. Market talk about consumer demand and large supplies of pork and poultry is making the rounds. Thursday's USDA cattle slaughter was 116,000 head. The total for the week is 462,000 head versus 430,000 head a year ago. Trading is expected to be very choppy.
