- American Express Company (NYSE: AXP) shares rose 6.3 percent to $65.10 in pre-market trading after the company reported better-than-expected earnings for its third quarter and raised its 2016 forecast.
- United Rentals, Inc. (NYSE: URI) rose 4.6 percent to $79.02 in the pre-market trading after announcing upbeat quarterly earnings.
- Kinder Morgan Inc (NYSE: KMI) rose 3.5 percent to $21.43 in the pre-market trading session. Kinder Morgan reported a Q3 loss of $227 million. Credit Suisse upgraded Kinder Morgan from Neutral to Outperform and raised the price target from $23.00 to $26.00, while Stifel Nicolaus upgraded the stock from Hold to Buy.
- Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTXS) rose 3.4 percent to $89.25 in pre-market trading as the company reported better-than-expected results for its third quarter and issued a strong FY16 forecast.

- Rigel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: RIGL) shares fell 29.5 percent to $2.27 in pre-market trading after the company reported results from the second FIT Phase 3 study for fostamatinib. The company disclosed that the study did not meet primary endpoint.
- Select Comfort Corp. (NASDAQ: SCSS) shares fell 19 percent to $17.49 in the pre-market trading session after the company reported weaker-than-expected Q3 results and lowered its FY16 earnings outlook.
- Trueblue Inc (NYSE: TBI) shares fell 9.5 percent to $18.10 in pre-market trading after the company reported weak Q3 earnings.
- Organovo Holdings Inc (NASDAQ: ONVO) shares fell 16.6 percent to $2.91 in pre-market trading after the company reported an offering of common stock.

- Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) shares fell 2.8 percent to $48.98 in pre-market trading following mixed results in the third quarter. While adjusted earnings came in above estimates, revenue missed.
- Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) fell 1.8 percent to $200.00 in pre-market trading. Tesla announced that all cars, including the lower priced Model 3 sedan, will feature the necessary hardware for self-driving capabilities.
