At 10:30 am, the Dow fell 0.51 percent to 18,476.48, the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index moved down 0.46 percent to 2,165.03 and the NASDAQ composite index slipped 0.16 percent to 5,092.05.

The industries that are still afloat in the market today are:

  • Semiconductor- Memory Chips: This industry gained 3.6 percent by 11:00 am. The top stock within the industry was Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MU), which gained 7 percent. Micron shares have declined 27.54 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 5.19 percent in the same period.
  • Photographic Equipment & Supplies: This industry rose 1.9 percent by 10:30 am ET. The top performer in this industry was GoPro Inc (NASDAQ: GPRO), which gained 2.5 percent. GoPro is expected to post Q2 results on July 27, 2016.
  • Dairy Products: The industry gained 0.9 percent by 10:30 am. The top performer in this industry was Synutra International, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYUT), which gained 1.1 percent. Synutra shares have dropped 43.20 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 5.19 percent in the same period.
