- Akers Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ: AKER) shares surged 34.9 percent to $2.59 after the company reported that it has signed its distribution agreement for BreathScan OxiChek™ with Aero-Med.
- Suffolk Bancorp (NYSE: SCNB) shares climbed 27.5 percent to $29.95 after the company agreed to be acquired by People's United Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ: PBCT) for $33.55 per share in an all-stock deal.
- Spi Energy Co Ltd (NASDAQ: SPI) shares surged 21 percent to $7.20 as the company reported that it has signed two new EPC contracts in China.
- Vista Gold Corp. (NYSE: VGZ) shares rose 14 percent to $1.79. Gold traded rose 0.34 percent to trade at $1,326.90 an ounce.
- GW Pharmaceuticals PLC- ADR (NASDAQ: GWPH) shares gained 8.2 percent to $90.10 following positive Epidiolex results. The company’s Epidiolex met primary endpoint in the phase three pivotal trial results for the treatment of Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome.
- CryoPort Inc (NASDAQ: CYRX) shares rose 7.7 percent to $1.68. CryoPort is expected to post quarterly earnings after the closing bell.
- Skullcandy Inc (NASDAQ: SKUL) shares gained 5.76 percent to $6.08 after the company disclosed that on June 24, it received an unsolicited proposal from Mill Road Capital to buy all the outstanding shares of the company for $6.05 a share.
- Randgold Resources Ltd. (ADR) (NASDAQ: GOLD) rose 4.2 percent to $105.36. Analysts at Goldman upgraded Randgold from Neutral to Buy.
