On Tuesday, utilities shares gained by 0.26 percent. Meanwhile, top gainers in the sector included Cleco Corporation (NYSE: CNL), up 13 percent, and Westar Energy Inc (NYSE: WR), up 2 percent. In trading on Tuesday, energy shares dipped by 1.76 percent.
