A short while ago, FIFA, Fédération Internationale de Football Association, announced that it had chosen Russia to host the 2018 World Cup, beating out England and joint bids by Spain/Portugal and The Netherlands/Belgium. FIFA also announced that Qatar would host the 2022 World Cup, beating out the United States' bid to bring futball's headline tournament back to the country for the first time since 1994."We go to new lands," FIFA president Sepp Blatter said."Thank you for believing in change, thank you for believing in expanding the game, thank you for giving Qatar a chance," said Sheikh Mohammad bin Hamad Al-Thani, Qatar's bid chairman. "We will not let you down. You will be proud of us, you will be proud of the Middle East and I promise you this."Shares of the Market Vectors Russia ETF (NYSE: RSX) are higher on the session by 2.21%, trading at $36.10.
