(NYSE: SYT) shares rose 1.59 percent to $79.82. The volume of Syngenta shares traded was 964 percent higher than normal. China National Chemical Corporation, also known as ChemChina, agreed to acquire Syngenta for around $43 billion.
Prudential Public Limited Company (ADR) (NYSE: PUK) surged 5.17 percent to $36.61. The volume of Prudential shares traded was 530 percent higher than normal. Prudential shares have dropped 29.61 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has declined 6.78 percent in the same period.
Ferrari N.V. (NYSE: RACE) shares climbed 4.12 percent to $36.42. The volume of Ferrari shares traded was 425 percent higher than normal. CNBC Fast Money's Tim Seymour said on the show that he sees a buying opportunity in Ferrari.
The Ultimate Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ULTI) shares moved up 4.45 percent to $180.20. The volume of Ultimate Software traded was 317 percent higher than normal. Ultimate Software reported upbeat earnings for the fourth quarter.
