Two Consumer Companies Reporting Earnings On Tuesday: Yum! & PepsiCo

  • PepsiCo, Inc. (NYSE: PEP) is scheduled to report its third quarter financial results on Tuesday morning, before the market opens.
  • Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE: YUM) will announce its third quarter results after the bell on Tuesday.
  • Shares of both companies are up on Monday trading, ahead of their earnings reports.

PepsiCo is reporting its third quarter financial results on Tuesday morning, and the Street is expecting to see a year-over-year decline of more than 6 percent in earnings.

In the third quarter of 2014, the company delivered earnings of $1.36 per share on revenue of $17.218 billion. For the current quarter, the Street anticipates consensus earnings of  $1.27 per share on revenue of $16.191 billion (Estimize). The crowd is slightly less bearish and projects earnings of $1.30 per share on revenue of $16.282 billion.

However, it should be noted from the chart above that the food and beverage company has tended to either beat or meet estimates over the last eight quarters.

Yum! Brands

Yum! Brands, for its part, is reporting its results on Tuesday afternoon, and expectations are quite bullish. The Street is modeling a 24 percent year-over-year increase in earnings, from $0.87 per share retrieved a year ago, to $1.08 per share expected for the current quarter (Estimize).

Experts are also anticipating that revenue will surge from $3.354 billion a year ago, to $3.711 billion this year.

The crowd is even more bullish, and is projecting consensus earnings of $1.09 per share on revenue of $3.724 billion.
