Big-Cap Tech Earnings To Watch This Week

27% profits every 20 days?

This is what Nic Chahine averages with his options buys. Not selling covered calls or spreads... BUYING options. Most traders don't even have a winning percentage of 27% buying options. He has an 83% win rate. Here's how he does it.

  • Oracle Corporation (NYSE: ORCL) will announce its first quarter (fiscal 2016) financial results on Wednesday after the market closes.
  • Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE) will report its third quarter (fiscal 2015) financial results after the bell on Thursday.
  • Shares of both companies rose more than 1.3 percent on Tuesday.

According to Estimize, Oracle is expected to deliver its weakest quarter in years, both in the revenue and earnings fronts. For the period in question, the Street is modeling consensus earnings of $0.52 per share on revenue of $8.511 billion, while the crowd is projecting earnings of $0.53 per share on revenue of $8.508 billion.

The current estimates imply a decline of at least 14.5 percent from the earnings of $0.62 per share (on sales of $8.599 billion) registered a year ago and an even larger tumble when compared to last quarter’s EPS of $0.78 and revenue of $10.712 billion.

The chart above shows how sentiment has evolved over time. Both experts and the crowd have been becoming increasingly bearish on Oracle’s earnings, and estimates now stand at their lowest.

Adobe

Adobe is expected to deliver its strongest quarter in years.

A year ago, earnings came in at $0.28 per share, and revenue, at $1.005 billion. For the current quarter, management guided earnings of $0.48 per share on revenue of $1.2 billion, the Street’s consensus estimate stands at $0.49 per share and $1.21 billion, and the crowd’s, at $0.52 per share and $1.222 billion.

It should also be noted the company has a history of beating estimates and guidance.
