The employment cost index for the second quarter will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the Chicago PMI for July will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET. The University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for July will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 15.5 points to 17,670.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 2.30 points to 2,101.45. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index slipped 3.85 points to 4,591.40.
