March Cocoa closed slightly higher on the day and down on the week during a quiet trading session following Thursday's sharp decline. March coffee closed 240 lower on the day and down on the week to the lowest prices since mid-July. Continuing Vietnamese harvest and the weak Brazilian Currency (Real) pressured the coffee market. Sugar closed lower on the session and down on the week, near contract lows. Talk that lower crude oil prices are increasing the probability for sugar mills switching away from using sugar cane for ethanol and more for sugar production pressured sugar on Friday.
