Piper Jaffray has published the PipeReport from the telecom world, reporting that:"Leap (NASDAQ: LEAP) announced that its Chief Operating Officer Al Moschner will retire. Mr. Moschner's retirement is to become effective when a successor is appointed or Dec. 31, 2010, if one is not appointed by then.  Leap's CEO stated that 3Q10 net adds are expected to be (170k) to (200k), but noted that both churn and net adds trends are looking positive in 4Q10.  TeleNav (NASDAQ: TNAV) extended its contract with Sprint, which removes a near-term overhang. However, the deal includes less favorable pricing terms for TeleNav and other concerns remain. Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) commented that it does not expect to increase its investment in Clearwire, which could force Sprint to contribute more.  Verizon's (NYSE: VZ) management commented at a recent conference that the company will likely introduce tiered data pricing, possibly in the next four to six months.  Vodafone's (NASDAQ: VOD) CEO indicated that a merger with Verizon is unlikely. Both companies' have noted that Verizon Wireless could begin paying a dividend to its owners. Recall, Verizon owns 55% and Vodafone holds the remaining 45%. Verizon announced that Lowell McAdam will be president and COO effective Oct. 1, 2010.  AT&T (NYSE: T) introduced its first satellite-enabled smartphone.The handset can access TerreStar's satellite for service when a terrestrial signal in not available. MetroPCS (NYSE: PCS) launched commercial 4G LTE services in Las Vegas. The company offers two plans at $55 and $60 month. Both include talk, text and Web."
