In a report published Monday, Oppenheimer analyst Fadel Gheit reiterated an Outperform rating on
Pioneer Natural Resources (NYSE: PXD), and raised the price target from $170.00 to $180.00.In the report, Oppenheimer noted, “PXD has led the energy sector with a 58% gain YTD vs 25% for its peer average and 16% for the S&P 500. It is trading at a 70% P/CF premium and among the highest multiples in the sector. But it has the largest exposure to multi liquids-rich zones in the Permian and one of the largest exposures to the Eagle Ford. Its 9 bboe estimated reserve potential is eight times its current proved reserves and expects >15% CAGR of production in the next three years, which is more than double the peer average. We are raising our price target slightly, from $170 to $180, to reflect the improved outlook. Our estimates are also adjusted for guidance.”Pioneer Natural Resources closed on Friday at $170.29.
