Tesla CEO and tech billionaire Elon Musk has once again expressed concerns about declining demographics, especially in financially better-off countries.

What Happened: Musk has highlighted the phenomenon of “demographic suicide” in wealthy nations, pointing out the absence of an evolutionary response to the lack of new life, even if the number of people remains constant.

In a post on Monday, Musk said, “We notice death, but have no evolutionary response to the absence of new life (babies), even if the number of souls is held constant."

Musk reacted to a post by Canadian psychologist and cultural critic Jordan Peterson about assisted suicide. Peterson was referring to a story about a 28-year-old woman who is "scheduled to die in May," saying that the next thing people will do is "romanticize suicide."

To this, Musk said, "All nations above a certain income per capita ($10k?) are committing demographic suicide."

Musk’s post comes at a time when the issue of declining birth rates and its potential impact on society and the economy is a growing concern. Musk has been vocal about this issue for years.

He has previously stated that the declining birth rate is a more significant risk to human civilization than global warming. Musk has also taken action to address this concern, including funding fertility studies and advocating for increased birth rates.
