A recent CNN/University of New Hampshire poll reveals that former President Donald Trump leads the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race in New Hampshire, while four other candidates are vying for the second place, CNN reported.
Trump is the preferred choice of 39% of likely GOP primary voters in the state. His support is slightly less than his national performance, where he routinely secures majority support in Republican primary polling.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has seen a drop from 23% in July to 10% now. Meanwhile, tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has garnered 13% support, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley 12%, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie 11%. Other candidates, including South Carolina Senator Tim Scott and former Vice President Mike Pence, secured 6% and 2% support respectively.

The poll also indicates that a significant number of voters may change their preferences before the primary. Currently, 36% of likely GOP primary voters have decided on their preferred candidate, while 38% are leaning toward a candidate and 24% are still undecided.
Christie appears to have the highest unfavorable rating in the field, with 67% of likely Republican primary voters expressing an unfavorable view of him. In contrast, 51% of likely Republican primary voters believe that Trump has the best chance to win the general election in 2024.
The CNN New Hampshire poll was conducted online from Sep. 14 to 18 by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.
