Several DoorDash (NYSE:DASH) workers have been reportedly using accounts registered under false names to make deliveries, leading to customer confusion and potential security risks, Business Insider reported.
These revelations surfaced through TikTok videos and firsthand accounts. In some instances, drivers are suspected of using accounts registered by friends or partners.
This raises safety concerns as drivers operating under different accounts may not have undergone the mandatory criminal background checks, as required by the app.
TikTok user “llzklifestyle” in a video posted last week, revealed she had a DoorDash order delivered by a man, despite the account being registered under a woman’s name.

In response, DoorDash confirmed it verifies driver identities through government-issued photo IDs and selfies uploaded by the drivers. The company maintains a “zero-tolerance” policy for account sharing, with such users facing potential deactivation.
Similar practices have also been reported on other delivery apps like Instacart and Walmart’s Spark service, which can lead to account deactivation.
